Parking Day 2009 (22)
Team fdc reclaimed a parking spot for the city on 17th + Valencia. Our space aimed to promote the social responsibility of architects. We built and displayed a window farm at the SW corner of our parking space, built our chairs out of the sturdy core of large format printing rolls and created a shaded structure from old discarded umbrellas! Engaging the community through design is fun!!! And we introduced many urbanites to the ease of window farming. -

Bike Shelter - YAF Denver Merit Award (2)
EXPAND is a system defined by the proportions of an individual and their bike. Notions of efficiency and economy led to a modular, re-configurable system that has the versatility to support a wide variety of uses. For easy site adaptation a 'kit of parts' approach was devised. The homogeneity of the unit provides one continuous language, one wrapper, and when combined linearly, forms the shelter. Supergraphics reading 'bike' in various languages will be painted on the wood slats.
