HUB San Francisco (9)
Urban Matters was hired by the HUB San Francisco to work with the office tenants in selecting furniture from Herman Miller. We worked with 18 out of the 21 offices, visiting their space, meeting with them to find out their needs/wants/wishes, creating furniture layouts, and providing them a material palette with finishes, wallcovering and other accessories to showcase their mission, values and work. -
Engine House (12)
Situated in Holbeck in a 2400sf grade 2 listed development, a ‘design studio’ housing 25+ employees, equipment and auxiliary spaces was created for WGI. The interior was designed to showcase WGI’s talents through different mediums and create flexible working spaces that encourage and support interaction and communication between the design sectors. Designer while at WGI International. -
PCSI - Feasibility Study (17)
A feasibility study was created for the Pacific Community Services, Inc., after a fire devastated their beautiful historical office space. Working both as a business and incubator for local artists, the floor plan was divided into working and gallery space and outfitted with folding and sliding partitions,to provide more open and closed options. Arlington I.S.D. PDC - TASB AWARD (12)
Once movie theater, turned professional development center, this adaptive reuse project saved the I.S.D. on construction costs and the environment. Flexibility and training halls that improved learning, such as color, minimal glare, acoustics and wayfinding, drove the design. TASB award for Value, Educational Appropriateness and Innovation.
